About Dean Starr

As a Senior Wealth Advisor for Citi Personal Wealth Management, Dean Starr uses a holistic approach to financial planning, investment management and insurance guidance. He strives to be an approachable advisor who makes clients feel comfortable while providing responsible and thoughtful recommendations tailored to their needs.

With over 15 years of experience as an advisor, Dean specializes in financial planning, retirement planning and portfolio management and works with a client's tax and legal advisors on estate and legacy planning and insurance and wealth transfer.

Most recently, he was a Financial Advisor at M&T Bank. Prior to that, he worked as an advisor at HSBC and MetLife, a registered representative for Prudential Insurance, and head trader of U.S. corporate bonds and equities for over 20 years at Bank of New York Mellon.

He has Series 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses and a life, accident and health insurance license.

He attended Nassau Community College, with a focus on business administration.

Married with four children and seven grandchildren, Dean in his spare time is a sports enthusiast.
